The Mazzeo Agency was founded in October 1864 as a
real estate and insurance brokerage, operating
in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York.
We incorporated in 1908 and remained a family
operated business. In 1965 Robert L. Mazzeo, CLU,
became sole owner and we sold the real estate
operation. Soon thereafter, the Agency moved
to the Financial District of Manhattan.
Mary J. Simpson (nee Mazzeo) joined the company
in 1984 as administrator and insurance broker.
The Mazzeo Benefits Agency, Inc. was formed
in 1985 as an extension of the original company,
to highlight the Employee Benefits effort,
independent of the property and casualty business.
The New Jersey office was opened during that time.
We expect the insurance business to continue to
evolve and as clients’ needs require modification,
we will be here, providing comprehensive coverages
